Come join the Carolina Thread Trail for a National Trails Day hike at the South Fork Rail Trail! Enjoy beautiful wild flowers, mountain-like bluffs and historic structures on this 4 mile hike with Sean Bloom, Land Stewardship Director for the Catawba Lands Conservancy. This is an easy, family-friendly, natural surface and compacted gravel trail with views of the South Fork River and the Historic Laboratory Mill building across the river.
After the hike, head over to Goodwood Pizza for lunch, or Riverbend Creamery for some cold ice cream! Both of these small businesses are owned and operated by families who protect their land through the Conservancy, and use products from their land to make the food they sell.
Riverbend Creamery gives regular tours of their creamery. For more info or to reserve a spot, click here.
