Public Hike: Lake Welchel Trail Expansion

Join Ashton Lamb, Community Coordinator, on a walk to see the new trails at Lake Whelchel! You will get an inside look at the trail before its formally opened. You will also have an opportunity to learn more about the process of building modern natural surface trails for hiking and mountain biking. Lake Whelchel and this new trail segment are a part of the Carolina Thread Trail and Overmountain Victory National Historic Trail.

This will be a moderate difficulty hike.

Course: Approx. 3-mile natural surface trail
Time: Saturday, November 16 | 10 am-12 pm
Parking Address: 198 Concord Rd, Gaffney, SC 29341
Audience: All ages welcome. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are permitted.
Facilities: Bathrooms are not available on site.

Experienced guided hike leader
Snacks

You Should Wear/Bring:

Plenty of water
Closed toe hiking shoes
Hat and sun protection
Insect repellent
Personal medical supplies (EpiPen, inhaler, etc.)
