In celebration of National Trails Day, join the Carolina Thread Trail on the Rocky Creek Trail in Great Falls, SC! This 1.6-mile, out-and-back natural surface trail is located along Rocky Creek, a tributary of the Catawba River. At the river access, the trail "T"s. Taking a left will lead visitors on a 0.2-mile walk to a scenic waterfall. Following the trail to the right will lead visitors down a pleasant trail with scenic views of Rocky Creek. The path, as well as the land surrounding it on both sides of the creek, has been designated as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. The designation marks its significance as a diverse and healthy wildlife habitat.
