Greenway Gals Spider Lily Paddle
Saturday, June 12
**In compliance with local and national guidelines, Catawba Lands Conservancy and Carolina Thread Trail are taking the following steps and exercising additional precautions to ensure the safety of program participants, volunteers, and staff:
Calling all Greenway Gals! Join Carolina Thread Trail staff members on June 12 for a morning of paddling through the largest population of Rocky Shoals Spider Lilys in the world! Arrive at Landsford Canal State Park at 9:00 and borrow a kayak from Riverside Marina. We will travel paddle 1.5 miles downstream, through the Spider Lily shoals, until we arrive at the takeout downstream. Then, we will give our paddling muscles a break and take an easy hike on the Landsford Canal Trail along the river back up to the put-in. Along the way, we will stop briefly to learn about the Landsford Canal itself and see its historic remains. Finally, we will finish with some time to socialize with one another over lunch provided by the Carolina Thread Trail. We can't wait for you to join us!
To see a sneak peek of our paddle and hike, watch this Trail Tour of the Landsford Canal Trail and blueway section!
**You must be able to swim to partake in this event.**
Thanks for signing up for the upcoming Greenway Gals Paddle at Landsford Canal State Park! You will receive an email with more details the week of the trip. If you have any questions in the meantime, do not hesitate to reach out to vanessa@carolinathreadtrail.org.
