National Trails Day:
Biking the Kings Mountain Gateway
Saturday, June 4th
As part of the National Trails Day festivities, join Carolina Thread Trail for a guided bike tour of the Kings Mountain Gateway Trail. This exciting trail will eventually connect the city of Kings Mountain to Kings Mountain State Park, Kings Mountain Military Battlefield, Crowders Mountain, and the Overmountain Victory trail, whew! Until then you can enjoy the Gateway Trail’s own features, including boardwalks, scenic overlooks thanks to a nearby quarry, and a butterfly garden. A staff guide will lead you down the mostly-gravel trail and point out all the highlights while talking about the complicated process of building a trail system in this area. The bike ride will be of moderate difficulty and will be around 10 miles out-and-back with stops along the way. Please be sure you are able to bike the entire distance listed before registering. See you on the trail!
Thank you for registering to join us at Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge! We will send an email to you the week of the program with further details. If you have any questions, please contact raul@carolinathreadtrail.org
